They wont allow me to go to a program that does exist. Drug addiction recovery treatment program. It's a program. I try to go to that program. Something to do. A program to go to. They won't let me go. Discrimination. I need a lawyer. Lawyers are scum. There is no lawyer that sues for discrimination from a drug treatment program.

Yes, i think that people with ASD, and in fact people who have normal or above normal IQ
are now more likely to be abused. as we are invisible unlike our lower IQ brothers (no offense).

There once was a world where racial prejudice was normal
until people fought back
now racial prejudice is illegal (at least in theory)

we once lived in a world where sexual discrimination, especially against woman was normal
and many brave woman fought back and for their rights, as equals in a fair and just society
now sexual discrimination is illegal (at least in theory)

then came disability discrimination, sexual orientation discrimination and the many other forms of discrimination
that others cried out against

and people have taken note, perhaps too much note in some cases
and the righteous and just in our societies
are doing what they can to help

the problem for us Aspies is that our disability is invisible, and having ASD can often make us weak and defenseless, unable to defend ourselves against the world of NT bullies (not all NT's are bullies, but people with ASD generally aren't either).

What problem that people with Asperger Syndrome have is that we look and for the most part act normal,
but may have a problem with communication and in some cases, a problem coping with sensory as well as emotional information, this makes us weak and a sitting duck for psycho's, who have worked out that we react fairly easily if put under little pressure.

We do not look disabled, so when someone victimizes us, no one cares, they just let people do it.
Sometimes, those in position of authority do this.

It happened to me, and I, by no means am a walkover. I grew up training obsessively in karate and have several years experience in several other arts, but at uni, i was victimized because i suffered from ASD

Uni is extremely stressful even for the non-disabled. But for someone with ASD and anxiety etc. Phew!
Its a miracle i came out alive, or should i say, i didn't kill any of the people victimizing me. (I am more than capable in terms of skill and IQ, I am not a psycho though, even if pushed to the limits).

When i was at Uni, it was the Uni's staff that victimized me after stealing some of my music research work.
They used intimidation and threatening behavior in attempt to get me to leave Uni, after they had robbed me.
they pushed so hard that i very almost assaulted one of the bullies, but did not, as I knew what would happen if i did. I would likely get put into prison (in a rough part of the UK), and i would get thrown out of the Uni, without a degree.

So, i did not assault the guy (although he deserved it due to his extensive bullying campaign)
not so as to save him, but to save me. As although douche bags deserve a beating on rare occassions,
i did not deserve to be ruined due to this nasty blokes attitude.

I did complain to the Head of the course, I did complain to the Head of the college,
all denied any such actions. That is uni's for you, especially ones connected with the entertainment industry.
its all about money and their fame., if any thing discriminating happens due to their staff committing criminal
acts, they pretend it didn't happen so as to protect themselves and their college, who cares who gets hurt in the process.

that's what these people are about. People with ASD are sitting ducks for these shmucks!

People with AS (I refuse to think of it as a disorder) are creatures of a higher intelligence that do not fit within this constrained human box world. We should expect nothing from the box world aside for how to innovate it and develop new ways of doing and being. Entrepreneurship is the answer. I will support AS owned businesses. Monetize your gifts, create your world. I would pay extra for a product or service of a business that was AS owned and/or had a preference for AS hiring.

The NT world is a brutal and awful place and I am expecting nothing from it - we can take care of each other.

On what alleged grounds were you not allowed into that drug addiction recovery treatment program?

Yep. Intellectual property theft is a big problem at some universities and in some scholarly journals.

There are ways to protect yourself, however. I decided to post a more detailed reply here to address this topic.

One of the things I hope to do is to build a network of small businesses owned or co-owned by people on the autism spectrum.

However, such a network can thrive only in the context of a larger autistic community, which needs to become much better organized and more generally useful, and to many more autistic people, than it is now. For my thoughts about this, please see Longterm visions for the autistic community.

Difficult to see what “programs” there could be for us.

There’s already stuff for ex offenders and drug / alcohol that have specific goals i.e off addiction and away from crime by getting a job.

It’s a bit more difficult with asd only a minority can work anyway so what else is there? What’s the specific goal?

You could claim sites like WP offer social support although that could be built on.

Given how broadly "autism" is defined these days, I would guess that maybe half of us (not just a "minority") are capable of work, at least with sufficient accommodations, not just on the job itself but in the process of getting a job in the first place.

Some creative problem-solving will be needed to come up with suitable ways for autistic people to find work without having to go through the standard interview procedure (which is probably the biggest hurdle for many of us). I have some ideas about this which I will write up at some point. For now, I'll just say that a much better-organized autistic community (with some help from the communities of parents/families and professionals) will be necessary in order for any such thing to be possible.

It really should come as no surprise to me that someone had the same idea I had and probably
decades before me. But yes! I support you!

Here is the amazing, world changing fact about eCommerce and the digital product space - the data demonstrates repeatedly that a brand can sustain itself with only 1000 what's called "true fans." These are customers who don't just like your brand, they love your brand, live for your brand when a new product is launched they're the first to buy. There is a dearth of products and brands that have an interest in the autistic community and truly understand our unique vantage from which we interface with this seriously horrifying world which just means that space can should and eventually will be filled by more entrepreneurs who understand us because they are one of us.
