The small boy who keeps getting bullied and beaten tells father, the father trains him how to fight, because "it's the only way".
The small kid beats the big bully kid and now suddenly all bullies fear him and stop bothering him.

IRL, they would retaliate by gang bullying him.

When someone sacks someone and they immediately hook up.

That guy who sacked you isn't 'chivalric'. That girl who sacked you isn't 'girl boss'. Not in that moment. They're seen more as the jerk who sacked you.

Very similar to one I thought of before reading this.

A nerdy unpopular girl always keeps her feelings for a popular jock who seemingly ignores her every single time they see each other at school.

One day, they suddenly begin talking when he is alone after school finishes for the day. He tells her that he's sorry for ignoring her and apologizes for being selfish. He admits his feelings for her and says that he views her as no different from popular girls in part because of how intelligent she is.

Several days later, word gets out and they become an item instantly! :lol:

IMO, the jock would lose many of his friends and maybe his status as a popular boy at his school.

Movies are not about realism.....they are about escapism, primarily. So what if this and that is not a “realistic portrayal.”

They are, say, about the fantasy whereby the jock falls for the nerdy girl. So what that it might not happen in real life. People do have to aspire for something MORE than mere realism. Who wants to watch movies about nerds being bullied.....unless one wants to see a statement about bullying. Many people want to know that they can ASPIRE to be beyond their bullying situation.

People during the Depression didn’t want to be reminded, while they were seeing movies, that they were in a Depression. They wanted to see movies about ASPIRATION....about moving BEYOND what was “real” at the time.

The “realism” they got tended to be the gangster movies.

They have enough “real life” in their real lives.
