Dependent Personality Disorder and Neurodiversity
Can a neurodiverse (ND) person also have Dependent Personality Disorder (DPD) at the same time, or the dependent symptoms and traits are only signs of being on the Autism Spectrum?
Can an ND-ND romantic relationship be so strong that it cuts the dependent ND from their NT (neurotypical) supporter, even though the latter is socially way more adept and thus, a better, readier and more equipped provider?
I am having trouble understanding the question...Could you clarify for me???...Are you implying that an autistic person due to his or her autistic traits tends to depend on an NT who is more capable of navigating this difficult world...And if so, could the ASD cut ties with his or her NT as the ASD becomes more independent???...
By the way, I would dare say this scenario commonly plays-out among NTs...So, for example, the female gets involved with a male who suffers from some kind of self-destructive behavior, like the use of illegal drugs...Now imagine that a dependency relationship is formed between the two...The female succeeds in 'saving' the male from his troubles...He becomes reformed, and no longer needs the support of the female...He leaves her behind for a new gal...I am sure this happens more often than not...Where is the loyalty???! !!...
Yes, that's exactly the situation I tried to describe, thank you for putting it in words that make more sense. It's an ASD woman (previously non-diagnosed, high levels of masking and the related stress of course) and an NT man. No drugs or anything like that involved (no love either, only some loose friendship left between them).

Sad situation you describe above...Let me guess, the lady on the spectrum wants to leave her NT man for you???...And you believed her when she said that there are no more strings attached between them anymore---just a friendship...???...It could be true...Sad but true

Thank you so much for your kindness and warmth. Yes, that's the case. Well, I was "smart" this time, and since the gist of our online communication happened through e-mail, it got saved automatically. I made screenshots of her crucial statements regarding both me and her partner, and after her claim that she did reveal our relationship to the NT man and said she belonged to his place even though she admittedly is in love with me, I told her I was going to send this proof of screenshots to him as well (which I did), so he finally got to know my part of the story as well. That's where we're at now, but no further communication from either parties so far.

If you don't hear from her soon, that is good news for the future of her present relationship...And bad news for your future with her...

Yup. But in that case, I eliminated a pathological liar from my life at least. It's a bitter victory, but still, it's better than to be a fool forever.
