In Florida, only adults ages 65 and up, health care workers and assisted living residents and staff are eligible for the vaccine.

Two Florida women dressed up as "grannies" in an attempt to get vaccinated against COVID-19, health officials said Thursday. Their wacky getup included "the bonnets, the gloves, the glasses — the whole thing," said Dr. Raul Pino, the director of the Florida Department of Health in Orange County.

Workers at the Orange County Convention Center vaccine site noticed the women "looked funny," and stopped them before they could get their shots. There had also been an issue with the IDs and driver’s licenses they provided, Pino noted. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said one of the women was 44 years old and the other was 34 years old.

Pino said the number of people trying to falsify their identities to get the shot is probably "higher than we expect."

Contrast this with all those "skeptics" out there!

Shameful.

They think 65 year-old women wear bonnets?

I'm picturing the Flintstones episode where Fred and Barney dress up as "old ladies".

The 65 year old ladies I know usually wear half-calf-long skirts + sweaters and short, natural or blonde-dyed hair.

Fred and Barney didn't want to go to the Ambassador's Reception; they wanted to go bowling, instead. Is it that episode?

What a contrast to Australia! Friends and family there are shocked that we’re all eager to have the vaccine. They are doing all they can to warn me off it. Clearly, they’re not being exposed to the levels of loss that we are, and the large numbers who’ve been fighting for their lives. The number one reason they’re citing is the timeframe of the vaccine, that it’s been rushed, therefore, potentially dangerous in the long run, as well as mistrust in government.

Here in the UK, they’re now advertising for human guinea pigs to come forward. They want folks who are willing to expose themselves to the virus, in an effort to assist with research. They’re offering £500 per human guinea pig. No thanks.

Some people at the nursing home where my wife works wanted to "wait and see."

Now, they are "waiting and seeing," and can't get an appointment!

Disgusting.
Healthcare workers live in fear and are on the frontline of a terrible disease.
They deserve protection first.
The elderly deserve the front of the line because these are the last years of their lives, and because many/most of them have low resistance.
Those women should be arrested.

The news story I saw on TV about this said they were not arrested, but they were issued trespass warnings and would be arrested if they returned to try and get vaccinated again.

Wouldn’t it have been ironic if they HAD gotten the vaccine and had had severe reactions to it as some have had?
