Here's an idea: Let's get rid of all gender representation.

I can't believe this is happening. I give up. I GIVE UP!

I mean ...they could ADD a new character, called simply "potato head" that is gender neutral. But they dont hafta get rid of Mr. Potato Head.

There's still a "Mr. Potato Head" and "Mrs. Potato Head". All that changed is the brand name. Their boxes still say Mr. and Mrs.

Then what is the media talking about?

It's CNN. No need to say more.

It's just capitalism.

They'll sell 'woke' stuff if it sells.

Sell 'anti-woke' if that sells.

And 'woke' is winning with today's parents.

It's basically a toy that most kids nowadays won't have an interest in. So, they're remarketing.

Either that or they're trying to reach a 'hipster' type of secondary audience with the 'woke' marketing & reminder that they exist.

My mother thanks the Lord that neither I nor my brothers have any kids to raise in this messed up world.

A company rebranding their product is a sign of a "messed up world"? That seems a bit dramatic.

Well...

If they wanna advance the cause of PC and wokeness I have a better idea.

If I were them I would market a line of Mr. Potato Head football players.

An NFL of different teams. Teams consisting of potato characters.

Instead of cities, it would be each variety of potato would get a team - a team consisting of only potatoes of that breed.

Each team would be named after a different breed of potato.

The Russets, the bakers, etc.

And they could have a team of redskin potatoes named... "the Redskins"! After the breed of potato of that name. Thereby removing the name "Redskin" from the human racial realm! And keeping it firmly in the potato realm (where it belongs). Cant get more woke than that!

My mother said she wouldn't have had kids, had she had more life experience/enlightenment.

The idea of having khildren is my worst knightmare.
I have a lot of peace in the knowledge that I haven't kontributed to the nonsense.

Potatoes no longer have genders? We truly live in a communist dystopia. It would be fine to raise kids during a deadly pandemic or rising political violence or worsening income inequality or climate change but genderless potatoes are just too much.

You don't know what it's like. We're living in a world where people think it's better if gender was assigned. One day I could be walking down the street and I greet a woman politely saying "Good morning, Miss!" and she says "DID YOU JUST ASSUME MY GENDER OR THAT I EVEN HAVE ONE?! !!" This wokeness crap is gaining traction and it's causing our social and popular culture to enter a period of self-destruction. Good writing and creativity are sacrificed in favor of a political agenda nobody cares about. They keep renewing it for more seasons despite ratings so low that the network, company, or studio is losing money. The critics who panned this crap are blamed because the network says they're bad people and We the people who refuse to watch are blamed because they say we couldn't handle such stunning and brave content. They're the ones who kept marketing this crap and saying it's not for us then threatening us with labels such as racist, sexist, or misogynist if we don't watch. Then there's the lack of originality. I don't mind if they come up with new characters regardless of what background they're given, but could they stop taking existing characters and changing their race, gender, and or sexual orientation?!

Not sure this 'story' is true. Just sounds like the media trying to get a reaction from people

So ... we all can rest easy!
