Acquire the best "Shield-Buster" phasers, and install them in your ship's forward arc.
Acquire the best possible shields and install them in the bow of your ship.
Come in fast, firing constantly, and make contact with the cube.
Continue firing on the cube with everything you can bring to bear -- never let up.
Before your own shields are completely gone, you should be able to destroy the cube; if not, then come back with a similarly-equipped team.
I used this same tactic with a Defiant-class vessel and destroyed several cubes that way. Of course, this was a few years ago, and the owners of ST:OL may have tweaked the rules since then.
