Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, dead at 99
It's too bad he didn't make it to 100, but he lived a long life. Harry will be at the funeral, but Meghan won't because her doctors advised her not to travel as she's too far along in her pregnancy for it to be safe. That would have been the case even before the pandemic, since she had a miscarriage previously. Still, the British tabloids will criticize her for it, as no matter what she does, they hate her.
Yes that's certainly on the cards. Making derogatory comments about a grandson/in-law condolence to their grandfather is particularly low form of media commentary. Isn't there some type of media standards board who can act against papers/journalists who engage in this type of baiting/slander
They will attack her by attacking Harry when he arrives for his grandfather's funeral. He's also fair game now.

I dont follow news on the royal family but I do really like that, as the tabloids cashcows, H&M walked away from the silly game the british newspapers play, stuck 2 fingers up and them and have gone off to enjoy their life.
The newspapers can't seem to cope with that and are desperately working at turning the nation against them
I honestly thought the institution of royalty in Great Britain could withstand a little drama with Meghan? How fragile is English culture?
Instead if you believe the British tabloids it's hanging by a thread and Meghan was totally responsible for its demise. Quite ludicrous. The royal family has coped with a sex addict in Edward 7th. a king marrying a commoner in Edward 8th and a paedophile prince in Andrew. I'm sure those issues were far more serious than a black woman entering the hallowed halls of Buckingham palace.

Well that's what I like to hear. However much we Aussies parody the English we admire your tenacity and great to hear Boris is lifting a lot of COVID restrictions too.

It's interesting given the Nicholas Sandmann case in Covington in the US, the boy's family were able to successfully settle out of court after they accused the Washington Post of slander.
Likewise how much stuff does the papers have to fabricate about Meghan before she can put them out of business?
Sometimes I wish the UK legal system operated like that of the US, but more often I'm glad that it doesn't.
Prince Philip mourned by the Vanuatu tribes as the death of their 'god'.

It seems Phillip will go down as the only English royalty to have had the title of god-king.
