I understand that there is some overlap? What are these?

My autistic burnout got misdiagnosed for schizophrenia but after getting out of this crap and analysing what happened, the similarity was purely superficial.

ASD is a developmental condition. It's how one's brain processes information and stimuli from senses.
Schizophrenia is a mental illness. It generates stimuli (hallucinations, delusions) from the brain itself.

One can have both at the same time but they are separate conditions, even if leading to supreficially similar behaviors like shutdowns.

Everybody's neurological make up is individual..

Heard the saying - you've met one person with autism, you've met one person with autism?

It's a complex and lifelong learning process for us on the spectrum. Everybody is individual and this includes being compromised of our wants, needs and experiences. ..

What are the similarities and differences of:

Psychotic episodes
Delusions
Beliefs
Interests
Eye contact

That make autism/Aspergers look like a mental illness?
