Really?
How could they overlook that? I thought those researchers were all on the spectrum themselves, how could they not notice that half of the social issues is caused by Aspies just noticing so much more detail than NTs?

I think that is a badly crafted sentence. Researchers have known for a long time that autistics have different sensory processes. It is even recognized in the DSM-5.

I think what she should have clarified is the general perception of the public is that it is social and are unaware for the cognitive element of the condition.
