Back in 2005, a group of autistic volunteers founded Autistic Pride Day, a day in which autistics go out to parks, meet each other and celebrate the Autistic Culture. The date was set to 18 June, which was one of the founders birthday.
Since then, every June, groups of autistic volunteers organize Autistic Pride Day events in various parks around the world. Annual events take place in London, Berlin, Helsinki, Tel Aviv, and other cities around the world. Due to technical considerations, the events don't necessarily take place on 18 June, but usually take place around that date.
In recent years, some Autistic Pride Day event organizers founded the Autistic Pride Alliance, which coordinates between events around the world. Last year, due to covid-19, it was impossible to hold public meetings. Therefore, an Autistic Pride Day event took place online. It can still be watched here:
