I suppose the "logic" is that after Brexit the UK government would be free to implement the will of the sector of society who can't stand foreigners. But business likes importing cheap labour, and UK government's priority has always been to look after business. That surge of Eastern European immigration we had a few years ago wasn't because of EU rules. The UK government voluntarily waived its opt-out rights on that one.
