Now I'm scared to go out the door
I'm scared I'm going to get shot. I read in the newspaper that this incel thing is a "growing threat in Britain" or something like that. And I live in a large city where this sort of thing could happen when I'm walking to work or something. So now I'm scared to walk out, just as I was starting to motivate myself to walk more and lose weight.
Another thing is I suppose the stigma about incels is going to stick to autistics because of a lot of autistic males can't get girlfriends and the public already perceives autism as "angry loners with no empathy".
So there you have it. I hope the law pulls their finger out on this one and makes it extremely hard to let people own guns. It's not fair that the public have to live in fear now because of these f*****g nutters that should shoot themselves first instead of shooting themselves AFTER taking lives of innocent people first. Now the covid seems less of a threat. At least there's vaccines for that. But no vaccine can protect people from being shot. ![]()

Mass shootings are incredibly rare in the UK. Wasn't this the first incident of that sort in a decade? It's tragic, but it isn't as though they're a daily occurrence like some other places.

Just a reminder: under international law, an occupying power has no right of self-defense, and those who are occupied have the right and duty to liberate themselves by any means possible.
Maybe, but I read that it could be a new trend arising in the UK, or, as the papers put it, 'a growing threat to the UK'.

To be fair, if a threat grows from unthinkable to unlikely, but not completely inconceivable that threat has grown, but also remains very unlikely.

It will start on WP soon enough, in a new thread. I think some autistics seem to like making up a stigma against ourselves, then blame the rest of the general population for stigmatizing.
The law system in the UK is hopeless. They seem to always pick on the wrong people, like a kid can fall over in the park and hurt himself and the social services get called, the parents get interrogated, and the kids get taken from them until further investigations have been done, yet parents that abuse or neglect their children and make them turn up to school in smelly clothes and almost dying from starvation seem to get away with it. Stories like that make me lose faith in the justice system in this country.

Honestly you're more likely to be gang-raped.
Also the mental case shot people outside of your age range. It's weird, but, people in their 50s, 40s, and unfortunately a 3 year old girl too... I don't think he targeted people based on the incel BS. If he shot at young women, I would agree. But I also don't know what he said/wrote about incel stuff.
Yeah I've read the incels writing on their forums, and I'd say the crazy posts (fantasies about killing/torturing women as a result of their internal ass-pain) are not rare, they're frequent enough that it feels like 5% of posts to me. Yes, not a majority position of incels, but it occurs often enough that I actually worried about it for a bit.
Most of these guys don't want to kill or hurt women, they're just bitching about them on the internet. I'd say the only ones that have something worthy to say are the "disabled-cel", I believe that is about guys who have physical disabilities.
You're probably more likely to get run over, but that will not stop you crossing roads, I hope. I don't want to add another worth. Mostly because there are precautions. You press the button and wait for the lights to change and go across on green. Very rarely will someone overshoot a red an run you over, probably never.
It's the same with shooters in the UK. There are laws and precautions. Very rarely will you be shot, probably never.
Hope my boring dry logic is some kind of comfort.
I don't think he targeted any certain age of people, he just shot people at random. That's so scary. Whenever I see something like that in the news I always think that it's going to happen to me. Funnily enough, the rarer something is, the more I think it's likely to happen to me. Because I usually am in the wrong place at the wrong time and unexpected unique stuff seems to happen to me in public. Although these situations just happen to embarrass me, one day it could be something worse. So why shouldn't I be a random victim of a gunman some day?

Because even witnessing a once-every-13-years event is less likely than having a bird plop on your head while you're out.
Even if that's already happened, it doesn't happen often enough to be something you need to consider before heading out.

>You're probably more likely to get run over,
Agreed, I live in Somewhere, USA and people here are massive twats on the road, and that's just when they're sober. Recently a mother and his son on the sidewalk were wiped out by a f*****g junkie who was on several different drugs, driving way above the speed limit, and losing control of the car that his mommy and daddy probably got for him. These accidents were uncommon in my town, and much more common (even traditional!) in my nearest metropolitan area/s**thole, but not anymore, and it adds to the stress I already have when walking. I'm always one twat away from getting crushed.
And look, here it is - the shooter is autistic.
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=399235
I can't live with this f*****g sh***y autism any more, it seems that every time there's a shooting they always turn out to be autistic. I don't want to share a spectrum with these nutters that go on shooting rampages.
Why don't we just f*****g face it - autistic men are dangerous and more likely to shoot people. There I said it. Happy now?
It is now, mate.

Obviously this guy had a lot more wrong in his head, it wasn't autism that drove him to murder/suicide.
And most people who are "incel" don't go on rampages, either.
Like other people said, you're more likely to get bit by a dog.

I'm not worried about getting shot any more. What I'm bothered about now is the fact that they always turn out to be autistic. Why don't they ever have mental health issues without autism?
Autism is really going to get a bad reputation. I don't want to share a spectrum with these killers. It makes me shudder.
