Now there's a twist. A feline prophet that curls up next to someone that is about to die. Either that or the cat is -really- poisonous...

I think it's more likely the cat notices the chemical change. I know if I get sick - really sick, my dog won't let me get up. She'll lay on me if she has to to keep me down, but she stays off the bed the rest of the time. I assume it's something like that.
