These statements resonate with me a lot. I've always been frustrated by the fact that people who have never experienced life from my perspective believe that they are entitled to dictate how I should think, feel, and act, just because my brain is wired a bit differently than theirs.
It's worse when other autistic people play into that line of thinking and put down others for daring to put their own needs first, instead of constantly wasting energy on making sure that everyone else around them is "comfortable" and not "burdened" by the existence of the person with ASD.
It's complete BS that we're taught from an early age that our needs and experiences don't matter, and that we need to relent to a world full of selfish people who can't even bother to take one second to think about what the life of someone other than themselves is truly like.
