Help, what do you do when one of you is always hot and the other is always cold?

My boyfriend always seems to be cold while I'm always hot, and he's always putting the heating on. The radiators get really hot and the apartment becomes like an oven, even after just a few minutes of having the heating on. He won't let me fiddle with the radiators to turn them down.

He especially has the heating on at night, and I can't sleep in a hot room. I have a fan on but it just blows hot air around after a while. I don't like to have the window open at night because we're downstairs, but I do open it in the day.

What do I do? I can't stand it, especially now that the days and the nights are getting warmer. Even in the summer he puts the heating on sometimes. There's often arguing over it. It's not like it's a cold apartment. I'm sick of it. If I had my way I'd only have the heating on when the temperature drops down to 2 Celsius or below, and never at night unless it's like bitter cold.

I'm sick of these arguments over the heating. Why is he always cold? Most fat men like him get hot more.

Dunno why he's always cold, but wouldn't the easiest way be for him to put more clothes on? Would also make the heating bill smaller; have you tried pointing that out?

Some observers are talking about combined gas and electricity bills getting to around £3000-£4000 per year in the not too distant future, if things carry on the way they are. That's about 30% of my income....

If he's got multiple layers of clothes on, and he's wearing slippers, and maybe a blanket if he's sitting around, AND he's drinking plenty of hot drinks, and he's STILL cold.....

....then he can turn the heating on.

But only after he's done 10 press ups and 10 sit ups :D

I sort of get this

I like the window open for fresh air and I can't stand being too hot.

Don't let him tell you that you can't play with the thermostat x

I know we need the heating on sometimes, as I do get sensitive to the cold, but it is a generally warm apartment and it is not necessary to have the heating on in the night when you can get warm in bed.

I get cold if I get up in the night but I put a blanket or a night gown around me, and it always warms me up, in fact sometimes I end up hot. Like I said, we are lucky enough to have a warm apartment and we have had a relatively mild winter.

He says we can afford the heating bill.

Would your "landlord" consider putting bars on the windows or just one?
Do you have another room you can make your bedroom?

Note the absence of any sexual jokes. <joke>

He sounds like an extremely inconsiderate person, sorry.
