I just bought the first season of charmed for like 24.99 at gamestop.

does anyone like it?

Don't like it. I think the people who made Buffy made it and I hate Buffy.

I love charmed, but i've missed about 3 seasons because I have to work.

Its Ok, but I've never been a massive fan. I think the Smiths song on the start is the main reason I ever watch it.

Charmed is a Buffy rip-off.

Buffy was created by Joss Whedon, and his company, Mutant Enemy (named after his typewriter incidentally), Whedon also wrote the Buffy movie, and created Angel and Firefly

Charmed was created by Constance M. Burge, and produced by Aaron Spelling's company. Spelling has created/produced shows like Melrose Place (I think) and The Love Boat. Constance Burge has produced shows like Ally MacBeal, Ed, and Boston Public.

I like Buffy, and Angel (similar shows), I also like Charmed.

I was unaware he had any comics...

I don't follow Joss Whedon that much, I leave that in the capable hands of my friend, who is a self confessed Buffynut. Whereas I am a Trekkie.

had to watch it once, at a friend's house (i haven't got a telly), and the result was that, after about 3 minutes, i gave my friend the choice of either turning it off, or me doing so by the simple expedient of putting my foot through the telly.

what a load of utter pants.

Oh and I don't watch Charmed, primarily in protest at the hatchet-job the feckers have done with 'How Soon Is Now' (as I may have mentioned in another thread)

Charmed?! I'm a Charmed fanatic! My friends and I watch Charmed every chance we get. I didn't know about Buffy back then and both of my friends like Charmed and Buffy. And I don't think they have anything to do with each other. They're both great shows.

Same here. I love the song "How Soon is Now"/The Smiths/Morissey and the Love Spit Love remake. The visuals go well with the song and it carries the atmosphere of a "magic" series IMHO.

I watch it because on Sunday night, there is little else. I used to call it "Smarmed".
It's basically a Buffy/The Craft (same song features there btw) rip but it's unique too. The villains are cheap actors I think. I thought 90210 guy (Aaron Spelling) made Ch4rM3D. I also see they've borrowed from HPverse in creating a "School of Witchcraft" for Page (Rose MacGowan) to work at. Rose btw did a very good job I think filling in for Prue....Rose just exudes "witchliness" while Prue exhudes more another word that basically rhymes with that.

(ok, poor Shannon Doughertie will never live down her image, sorry Shannon/you are probably nice *sometimes* like in the stockades or something )

Charmed is OK. They did kind've butcher the scripts a couple of times. Like the way they killed Cole off. I mean really! Cole was da man! Rose McGowan is very good in Prue's role. And she looks a ton better too. She's a redhead, of course (figures).
Buffy rocks too. Spike was kickass; everyone else are practically extras. I mean take that Angel pansy. Spike was much cooler.

I used to watch it. After the first person leaving, the show started to suck. To me, it just seemed like a bunch of who*es killing demons. Oh wow, how entertaining.

And slu*ty the vampire slayer probably had so many boyfriends it was silly.

What are talking about? She only had 3 in the entire 7 seasons, slept with 4. (one was a one stand a***hole)
