Now that conspiracy theory fodder has been mentioned ...

Uvalde police, school district no longer cooperating with Texas probe of shooting: Sources

Texas officials are probing law enforcement's response to last week's massacre.

"
The Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Independent School District police force are no longer cooperating with the Texas Department of Public Safety's investigation into the massacre at Robb Elementary School and the state's review of the law enforcement response, multiple law enforcement sources tell ABC News.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Independent School District did not immediately respond to requests for comment from ABC News.

According to sources, the decision to stop cooperating occurred soon after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news conference Friday during which he said the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the wrong decision" and contrary to protocol.

Reached by ABC News, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety said, "The Uvalde Police Department and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police provided an initial interview but has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days ago."

I don't understand what type of conspiracy could have taken place, or why.

If the school is holding back it's likely on advice of their legal team.
It's not the school's fault.

All of the fault lays with the perpetrator.
It trickles down from there to police.

Among the majority of the public, there is this unspoken attitude that 1) Everybody must conform to the unspoken attitudes of the public 100% of the time, 2) might makes right 100% of the time, 3) dissension is to be quashed at all costs, 4) the breakdown of the nuclear family.

In the 6 and a half decades of my miserable life on this piece of charred rock known as Earth, I sadly discovered I’m better off being a recluse, and have little, if any contact with the public. If anything, the pandemic has been a blessing. I don’t bother anyone, they don’t bother me.

I don't believe he was bullied.
He sounds like a first-class dick.

Every video I've seen of his acquaintances describes him as being a lifelong bully.
Let's not forgot narcissistic a***holes kill people, not just people who are meek.

He was bullied, apparently, and he did play violent video games according to Peta Credlin, which I consider a very reliable source.

Bullies need to take their "fair share" of the responsibility, imo. 8)

So what if he was bullied…..many people are bullied. I was bullied.

Those “many people” don’t plan to shoot and kill little kids like that stupid entitled punk.

Enough of this crap already! Enough of any sympathy for homicidal maniacs.

Those children who made phone calls deserve posthumous medals of heroism.

OK, I get it.
You think bullying is fine, maybe even character building. :thumright: <satire>

Where is the downside of mitigating bullying?

And yes, *some* people go off the deep end when they are bullied.
Call it a character fault, but how does that change things?
Seriously. 8O

Those who bullied the last mass shooter have blood on their hands *ALSO*, imo, the same as if a person takes their life because they can't handle online/RL bullying.
Most people can handle it, but some can't.
This is an undeniable fact.
You need to realise that.

You said: "sympathy for homicidal maniacs."
Show me where I have given any sympathy for homicidal maniacs?
You don't seem to understand the difference between "sympathy" and establishing where the problem comes from.

If a homicidal maniac is triggered through bullying, it is still the bullying that triggers the action.
Your reasoning seems to be lacking.

And as Kite man has pointed out, there are programs that are set up to identify where bullying occurs.
I'm not the only one who thinks the bullying culture is a bad thing.

Please maintain your civility.
Your outrage is not warranted.

Sometimes these perps do seem like victims of bullying, even though that doesn't excuse their choice.

From what I've seen of this one, he wasn't. ^
We may never know, but I haven't seen any evidence of it.

I think the answer lies in learning what leads a person to murder-suicide.
The media seems to forget that's the profile to study.
Most people who desire murder-suicide suffer from psychosis more than depression.
(I know he didn't take his own life, but most school shooters do - and he chose suicide-by-cop.)

Thanks for that article.
I didn't know about the graduation salut the day before.
That's heartbreaking.

The whole thing is beyond words.
If people did see red flags why the f was he able to buy a weapon of war at age 18?

I don't want to get into a gun debate but I don't understand bystanders.
Either he was viewed as a risk, or he wasn't.
Either way, he made a choice to hurt people.
He hurt his grandmother and fired at people on the street prior to the school.

He had to be psychotic.
How can anyone kill strangers by pre-meditated murder and intimidation, without being psychotic?
I would say he snapped, but then why did he have the gun for eight days if he just "snapped" ?

Also, I happen to think he was extremely good looking.
I'm shocked if people teased him for his looks.
They were likely hella jealous, if anything -- but couldn't have called him ugly.

Quote:
Stephen Garcia, who considered himself Ramos’s best friend in eighth grade, said Ramos didn’t have it easy in school. “He would get bullied hard, like bullied by a lot of people,” Garcia said. “Over social media, over gaming, over everything.

“He was the nicest kid, the most shyest kid. He just needed to break out of his shell.”

One time, he posted a photo of himself wearing black eyeliner, Garcia said, which brought on a slew of comments using a derogatory term for a gay person.

Ramos’s cousin Mia said she saw students mock his speech impediment when they attended middle school together. He’d brush it off in the moment, Mia said, then complain later to his grandmother that he didn’t want to go back to school.

You do understand that a sociopath is usually made through trauma, right?
He may have become a bully when he was older (there are other accounts that he was not, at least when he was younger), but one must ask, was he made into one?

Sociopaths are known to be involved in animal cruelty.
It is as if they are training to eventually turn that sadistic nature towards people.
It is almost as if there is a plan in motion.

I know that sociopaths are usually born sociopaths, and it's fostered through entitlement when they're young.

Being bullied doesn't make a person sociopathic. It might make them snap, or become impulsive for revenge.

Sociopathy and Psychopathy aren't the same psychology and yes, they do hurt animals.

Sociopaths have empathy but don't care.

Psychopaths don't have empathy at all.
