The thing that hurts me the most is the lack of real life communities these days. I vaguely know my neighbours and locals, I've made a big effort to do so, but people are generally too busy online to actually talk to real people. I also live in a small, cliquey village where I'm 'the stranger.'
I have one husband, one daughter and one friend. That's all. No social network of support, which was awful when I was basically an invalid during pregnancy and then I had to look after a tiny sick child more or less alone. No one cared about us because I have no siblings, no parents, no uncles, aunts, cousins, friends. It made me re-evaluate my life and realise that only a couple of people care if I live or die.
Surely in the past people had big families, local friends and support networks? 21st century life is very, very lonely.
Putin says he's going to fire a nuclear bomb at Britain by October. I have mixed feelings about that, probably better that he does so and finishes us off instantly.
