I don't get how people get so excited watching a bunch of men kick a ball around. I'd rather watch paint dry.

I'm pretty much the same when it comes to football (soccer, for the yanks).

How could people act as there is nothing wrong with me when my emotional and social development was delayed from the start.

How people can delude themselves to get away from the truth because they can't withstand it. How cowardly.

I don't understand all this advice which says 'surround yourself with the best people, the ones who support and love you and want the best for you.'

Where do we find these people? I'm lucky if I make one friend in real life, and they often turn out to be shallow or not nice.

Where is this big pool of 'best people'? :?

I never get that either. Its like those people are just waiting somewhere but no one tells How to find them.

In response to you,
I am feeling a bit tired and burned out atm. My job is not going well, apparently i work too slow even though i am older and more experienced than my coworkers. Its probably processing speed, my undiagnosed adhd and asd messing with my performance but Somehow no one notices those and they all think i am super intelligent. I am tired from trying to fulfill expectations. Thank you for caring about me.

I don't get why people have to get jaded by the opinions of others as they get older.

I'm sorry to hear that. I understand because I get the same, where people think I'm super intelligent. I often get called 'Professor' and 'the Oracle' for some reason. Then when I make a stupid mistake or have a meltdown or don't understand something, people love to jump on that and mock me horribly. I don't understand why.

Is there anyone you can talk to at work about your situation? Like an HR manager or someone? Although I know these days workplaces are very uncaring and competitive so it might be hard to find a sympathetic one.

You're welcome.

Not sure you understand the meaning of the word 'jaded'.

"Jaded" means "blase'". Numb, bored, not phased. Not shocked.

Our great grandparents might have been shocked by a "glimpse of stocking", but you or I might be blase' about most internet porn because we are all so jaded these days. Just as an example.

Folks seem to get MORE steamed about other's opinions, and not less so, as they get older.

I don't get why NT women act like teenagers all the time.

Telling someone at work that they 'never work' is not a compliment. Unless its joking banter you use to bond with someone via irony like some folks do.

I hear you loud and clear on that one. When I was taking and fetching my daughter from primary school, the gang of mums were horrible. So judgemental and childish, making rival groups and not talking to people from other groups, starting feuds etc. Apparently two of them hated me for something I said and tried to use my daughter to hurt me by not inviting her to their kids' birthday parties. So bl00dy childish, how dare they hurt a child for their stupid games.

It really was a playground. Grow up, ladies!

btw I didn't tell my daughter she hadn't been invited to the parties, I just made up some story about it.
