The HORRIFIC Torture Of The Women Of The Battle Of Berlin
The brave Russian military tradition continues today.
It's believed that 100,000 women were subject to horrific ordeals at the hands of Soviet soldiers and around 20,000 women it is believed died because of their treatment. The women of Berlin were incredibly fearful of the Soviets and what they would do. In the early evenings, the women of Berlin would hide wherever they could as them deemed these were the 'hunting hours,' where Red Army soldiers patrolled and looked for women. Some of the stories of the Red Army inside of the German capital were horrifically tragic and sad, but inside of Berlin the Soviets conducted scores of war crimes. Still today many old Berliners can recall the horror of the Battle of Berlin.
Just to put things in perspective.
The German Nazi invasion resulted in the deaths of 27 million Russians. Most of whom died pretty horrifically. That number makes anything in Berlin look pathetically insignificant.
Secondly the Russian army were ordered to make the German population in Berlin pay by Stalin.
'm sure the majority of Russians lost mothers, sisters and daughters to the Nazis wouldn't need to be asked twice.
Law of Karma
^ You know... my family having been trapped between the two... just... don't pretend you know better. It's too personal for me to say much more.
What is not personal for me: most of Soviet soldiers were taken from deep Asian provinces, where nazi Germany never reached, so nope, it wasn't personal for them. But you should learn about Soviet tactics of barrier troops to better understand how it worked.
Germans at least admit the attrocities they did and, in the decades since then, they have had their ups and downs but never came close to what used to be. Russians, on the other hand, always denied they did anything bad... and we can see today where such approach leads

Of course German civilians suffered. And it certainly wasn’t fair for them.
Still, the Nazis were the Nazis, and the Soviets were the Soviets. Both committed egregious genocides. It matters not much the comparison between how much the Nazis killed, and how much the Soviets killed. Both were equally evil.

What seems really unfair to me is all these apologists for Communism in the US and elsewhere who refuse to acknowledge that Communist leaders such as Mao, Stalin, Castro, and the Kims were just as monsterous as Hitler.
Why exactly are so many people on the internet nowadays quick to dismiss the dangers of Communism but are quick to judge Fascists and Nazis for having commited the exact same crimes?
I guess that's exactly why these tankies and apologists are called "Useful Idiots".

We know all this, the OP, however, is selectively (and deliberately) putting a magnifying glass on one incident out of thousands in WWII. Everyone committed acts of violence, the Japanese, Germans, italians, French, Soviets and the Chinese. Take you pick.

The Americans and British were cruel too but the old Hollywood propaganda films always painted our soldiers as the noble heroes they never really were...
Everything has to be put in perspective of the world of the 1930`s & 40`s
1. France & Britain were happy to appease Hitler until the invasion of Poland
2. The US didn't care and was happy to fund both sides until it was attacked by Japan at Pearl Harbor two years later.
Even when Hitler occupied W Europe & nearly defeated Britain at Dunkirk leading the door open to an invasion of Britain, officially the US didn't care.

3. Protecting civilians were really an afterthought back then as seen by the bombing of Dresden and the two nuclear bombs by US on Japan
4. It was common practice among US troops to mutilate dead Japanese soldiers taking skulls and other body parts as war souvenirs

Not only that but our American troops would murder Japanese troops who surrendered. They probably did the same to some of the German soldiers too.
And given how Americans treated POWs and civilians caught in the crossfire of Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan I'd say not much has changed in that regard. Seeing thise horrific photos of what happened in Abu Ghraib shook up everything I ever felt about our military.

Tell that to my mother.

Yes, 2 wrongs make a right.
And how did the Ukrainian women deserve the same treatment?
Your argument is illogical, as per usual.

You seem to have missed the first line in my original post.
Odd...
