Hello,

This is the first time I've tried to join a forum so hi! Nice to meet you.

I am a 24 year old female. I don't have any friends really (I haven't had any since 2015 or so) and have only just been diagnosed with autism about 2 months ago. Sometimes I feel that my cat gets me more than human people - at least I don't have to worry about boring her with pointless conversation about things only I seem to be interested in. But I'm kinda lonely I guess so I thought there's no harm in trying to meet new people. Then at least I can say I tried.

Having a lot of friends is not that important but what is important is having one or two good friends.
So how do you succeed in getting a friend?
First step is that you need to try and take the initiative. You have to be brave. You have to be bold. You have to search and talk and find them.
Now here is some words of advice.
About half the people in the world are introverts and the other half are extroverts.
Extroverts gain their internal energy by being in a crowd of people. They talk and talk and talk and then their internal batteries become recharged.
But introverts are very different. They need to be alone to recharge their internal batteries.

So here is the key point. If you are an introvert, you will achieve a higher probability of getting a friend if you focus your goal on finding other introverts as friends. They are buried all over you area. They rarely work in groups. They are alone and many seek friends. FRIENDS THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME.

When we married my bride had two cats. One became my girlfriend! My bride was annoyed by the cat's lack of loyalty but continued on as the cat's staff.
