by that i mean only you want to be in your house and the rest of your family/roomates/whatever have to get to steppin? im extremely in love with being the only one home all the time. thats because i can talk to myself and pace while i listen to my stereo loudly. i can just be more of myself when others arent around.
anyone else like this?

lol I'm exactly the same. I think it's partly sensory stuff with me though. I have two kids living with me, so it's noisy as hell during the day. :P
I also like being able to talk to myself with no one around.

Completely. I love having the whole house to myself, even if it's just to watch TV, read, or play music. At least then I can enjoy silence and not have to talk to anyone.

I very like being alone. I didn't like it when recently my mother went on leave and was in the house all the time. When I'm alone I can be undressed and listen to still the same song all the time - my mother in contrast, never listens to, read or watch one thing more than one time (with an exception of one trilogy of Polish comedies from 1970's - she always laughs watching those films).

My fave time of the day is after everyone else has gone to bed and I can get my space back. I have control of the TV and I don't have the sensory overload of other people channel-hopping, talking, using the phone & tapping away on a lap-top all at once.

Just me, my son, and the cat here...so it's not bad. My son goes to visit his dad on the weekends...so that leaves me and the cat.

But I know exactly what you mean...when people are around I'm always on edge, I'm never relaxed...then when I'm alone I can breath again, turn the bell off on the phone and I'm in total bliss.

I have my own place pretty much and hate it when I have visitors.
I am looking for somewhere in Dublin for next year and all indications are that it will have to be a shared house (some accommodation advertisements are for sharing a room! no way!) Not lookig forward to this at all....

Not much anymore, now that I live in a venue, but a long time when I lived in a sorta big old house where we were always getting roommates, I used to always feel kinda invaded by their presence, and end up not getting along with them because they dirupted my routines/ invsded my space and whatnot...

Yeah I was always like that when I had roomates and before that when I lived with my dad. Now I have my own little apartment where I keep the drapes drawn and run around in my pajamas or underwear whenever I'm home. But the situation isn't perfect because my neighbors are ultra noisy, have noisy dogs and they smoke outside and the cigarette smoke somehow finds its way inside even with the windows shut. So I still feel like I am still intruded upon. I want a house with at least 10 acres between me and the nearest neighbor.

Yup, I do the same thing. After everybody's in bed, I always have to stay up for a few hours to get some time alone. The downside is that I don't get much sleep that way :(

Yes, I love having the house to myself, it doesn't happen very often though. I don't mind other people sharing my space so long as they are quiet. Sometimes my husband has a couple of friends round and they play guitar together (not always tunefully) 8O 8O Oh, that's torture! I usually go out.

Yes I love it, in fact my parents are just going out for a walk I feel more relaxed alone, the irony is I don't think I could live completely alone, I've done it before and I just wound down to a halt and got swallowed by meself!

Can you get your own place?

I live alone and it is heavenly. I've never got any money but it's a price worth paying.

I live in a crowded house, 2 adults, 3 kids, 3 cats, 2 dogs. I don't mind: they're all family. Outsiders invading my territory is what I can't stand. I HATE it when people come over, especially if they don't give me adequate advance notice. My in-laws regularly "Drop in" or call when they're on their way over and I can't stand that!
