Queenslanders have faced off with key ministers and a police chief about the state government's lacklustre response to surging youth crime rates at a community forum in Toowoomba overnight.
Sky News Australia host Paul Murray broadcasted from the Toowoomba Community Forum where dozens of frustrated residents shared their fears with Youth Justice Minister Leanne Linard, Police Minister Mark Ryan and Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll.
The gathering came as the Australian Bureau of Statistics revealed 45,210 people aged between 10 and 17-years-old had committed a crime in 12 months, with the most common crime being violent offences.
"For every offender, there's a victim, there's the person who was attacked, stolen from, the communities that are changed forever," Murray said on the Paul Murray Live Youth Crime Special.
