Says you, again. There are plenty of testimonies from from transgender individuals (adults) that claim they were harmed by being allowed to pursue surgeries that changed their genitalia irrevocably. How much more damage can happen to a child whose brain is not fully developed yet? Some specialists claim the age of 25 as the magic number for complete brain maturity.
Large breasts cause problems with posture and pain. But, eat like a pig after a breast reduction and guess what? You'll have big boobs again. You won't grow back a penis or a vagina.
You can leave the army.

I'm not saying breast reductions are a problem, I'm saying they're the only gender affirming surgery they will do on minors. We both agree, this is acceptable.
You seem to be saying adults should be denied access to gender-affirming treatment while conceding that children do not receive those surgeries. I don't favour making changes to the status quo on this issue, meanwhile you argue to deny adults the right to make decisions over their own bodies.
You're sick of your positions looking terrible when examined critically and you'd dislike the next person who does it just as much.

Certainly, doctors shouldn't rush people towards surgical transitioning but that doesn't mean a blanket ban for younger adults is reasonable. It means improvements might need to be made when it comes to evaluating who's able to go ahead.

Actually there are plenty of horror stories about doctor's choosing for intersex children. Do labwork, have a basic outline based on that labwork for which hormones are predominant. We've always been willing to do the hard work when it came to parenting, until now. We, as parents, helped our kids navigate the difficulties of adolescence and made decisions that we felt protected kids from themselves until they were old enough. We know now that 18 is not the age of brain maturity, it's simply the age they can join the army. Would you really get behind a lifetime sentence for a kid who committed an act of violence against another kid? Lock 'em up and throw away the key? Because like it or not, this is similar. Only it's self mutilation (violence directed at themselves)... And the consequences could be a lifetime, no going back.
