Do you have any statistics?
The media are always saying that crime is “getting worse”, even at times when it is getting better, because bad news gets more attention.
If I come across it, I will post it.
The two main issues:
1. The alcohol ban was recently rescinded. They have largely been reinstated again because of the massive increase in domestic violence.
2. Lax bail laws involving juvenile "recidivists". A recent stabbing death of a 19 year old was committed by a 19 year old on bail for serious assault charges. There are many more examples of a small number of juvenile criminals involved in repeat anti-social activities because they know they will be released without consequences.
The problem, particularly in Northern Australia, is the political narrative of the left-wing state government is out of touch with life's reality.
"Political philosophy/ideology over practical solutions."
