Chicago to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention

The last Democratic National Convention to be held in Chicago was in 1996, when President Bill Clinton was nominated for his second term. It was the first time the Democrats held their nominating convention there since the tumultuous convention in 1968, when violence broke out in protests outside as Vice President Hubert Humphrey was named the Democratic nominee.

You have got to be kidding me. I had to double check to make sure I did not mistakenly click on the Babylon Bee. Crime has been an albatross around the Dems neck for decades and they choose Chicago!! Just as I was starting to entertain thoughts that maybe just maybe with Trump and abortion, the results of the off year elections that the Republicans have dug such a big hole for themselves that even the Democrats won’t be able to find a way to blow it, the Democrats remind me yet again that yes they can.

I actually find it hilarious.

They can also pick other Democrat-failing big cities such as LA, SF, or Portland. Or Detroit. Or Philadelphia.

SF would be perfect because every Democrat would be robbed blind, their rental cars smashed and broken into. The druggies and homeless people in LA and Portland would be the perfect background scenery for them to experience their social justice utopias in.

I honestly think Chicago is the safest city for the Democrats to hold the DNC convention. Just have it in the nice parts, and get hotels in the nicer parts of the suburbs. It could always be worse and there isn't a big city that is doing well right now aside from maybe NYC but even NYC has many problems.

They can find a “good” area or secure an area in any city you mentioned so that every delegate won’t be a crime victim. That won’t matter. A few will wonder out and victimized and the Republicans will go crazy. And the contrast between what the average delegate experiences vs the average citizen experiences in the chosen city will be eagerly pointed out.

They should have chosen to hold it in a median size city in a swing state.

If they could hold it at Mar-A-Lago, then they could blame any violence that ensued on old DJT himself.

Come to think of it, I fully expect a large turnout of violent, liquored-up, red-hatted Trumpsters at and around the 2024 Democratic National Convention venue.
