If you decided to sell anything you had and cash in your entire net worth to buy one lavish, vulgar item, what would you get away with just about affording?

A large yacht, a super car, an outrageous watch or perhaps something more humble?

I'm really struggling with this...

I'm anti v anit y (vanti?) lol

I'm "poor"

If I had capital, I'd secure property, in order to help... a certain class of People.

Although... a "lavish" kitchen, with a workhorse bread positive oven would be superb

Same here. I don't have many possessions compared to most people & most of mine are not worth much so if I sold them all I'd be lucky if I could pay off one of the two credit-cards I defaulted on a few years ago :(

Well if I sold everything I supposed I'd need a new house, because I'd be homeless. :)

My new digs would be a quaint cottage in Cumbria.
Perhaps a holiday home at the Isle of Skye, but I doubt I could afford both.

This is assuming of course I didn't have kids and didn't need to invest it all for their future.

Not interested in cars, travel, bling, clothes.

OH HOLD UP. I might need to hit up some auctions at Sotheby's.

I cant.imagine selling my things to buy something like a yacht.

Partially because.i.doubt the things I own are.worth much outside.of.sentimentality.

But also.I'm not big on the idea.of.wasting money.

I like the idea.of.owning my own home though so I'll go.with that.

I don't know of one big vain item which could possibly bring as much enjoyment as all the little items I have: the hobbies, the books, and such.

A $20 airplane book and some aftermarket model airplane detail parts arrived in today's mail & they are going toward building some models modified to represent some airplanes in a story idea I have.

This year our county seat farm burg's Walmart has some bright and fun pattern tropical shirts so I bought a few to replace some 10 to 20 year old ones which are wearing out.

It is the little things like that which satisfy me.

if you could afford to buy a yacht, you could live there instead of owning a house  You won't have to worry about neighbors that way

Some of us dont have much wordly stuff to sell.

Better way to set up the question would be something along the lines of...what if some one GAVE you a million dollars, but you HAD to blow it all on one luxury thing. What would it be?

Something like that.

I don’t have many belongings, but if I did, I’d sell them to buy a grand piano, perhaps a Steinway. Of course, I would have nowhere to put it. My parents basement would be too humid.

Hmmm…

Well, they certainly double up as a house so still practical to some extent.

A new house wil tempt me too. I might end up picking a decent new build or something in a small town instead.
