What will happen if trump is convicted

Then he will be sentenced.

One of my favourite parts about this is that federal trials are mostly just a formality to iron out the details of sentencing.. considering a ~90% conviction rate and all. Feds don't bother pressing charges unless they are almost certain they're going to win. I guess it's quite costly in terms of labour, money, and other resources - plus their reputation. They don't want to be seen as filing charges on whims or just to sully someone's reputation etc.. plus I'm sure they prefer their conviction rate to be high as a deterrent to would be criminals from doing things that would land them in federal hot water.

Yadda yadda, this will likely go on for quite some time, especially due to trump's stall tactics and the reality that he can't keep lawyers and will have an excuse every few weeks that his new lawyer needs to be brought up to speed etc etc but in the end, statistically speaking, I'm pretty confident he's going down for this.. he may get convictions in other cases (Georgia, NYS tax fraud are the highest probabilities) and maaaaaaybe in the J6 case too - considering the leader beans of the domestic terrorist organizations going to jail for seditious conspiracy and all that good stuff.. but the boxes hoax case? It's the most cut and dry ultra obvious that trump is guilty af. Even bill barr says he's toast.

Trial date is set for August 14th 2023. Obvi trump will delay, so it probably won't actually start then.. but who knows.

Jack Smith & the DOJ have filed to request the trial be delayed until December 2023 so they have enough time to do security clearances for people involved/to sort classified documents and determine what's going to be evidence in trial and what's too top secret for anyone to ever know etc etc that kinda stuff. trumpy's team will likely contest it and request that it be much, much, later - after the 2024 election.
