Do weightlifters who spend a lot of time at the gym are they more prone to problems like sleep apnea compated to the general population who dont lift ss much? A lot of bodybuilders put on excess weight.

I don't know about body builders Jamesy but I tend to sleep better after exercise.

I’ve heard this about body builders. At age 60, I have sleep apnea. I know because sometimes when I doze, I wake up with a gasp.

I sleep better on my side. And I think the explanation is that the airway is an oval rather than a circle.

I have sleep apnea and I'm not anywhere near overweight. I think it can happen to anyone.
Excess weight is only a potential problem if it's flabby, as far as I know.
