Turns out I'm lactose intolerant.

So, what's your favourite milk alternative? I would say oat milk, personally. How about you?

Perhaps a bit of a pointless thread I suppose, but why not? We've certainly got enough milks in the world to choose from.

I never have tried oat milk. If I go no dairy, I tend to go for soy milk if I need it for cooking, and almond milk for cereal. I always have canned coconut milk on hand though. It makes a fine homemade ice cream as well as being great for tempering spicy dishes and it also does okay for sweet quick breads.

Almond milk or oat milk, unless I am preparing baked goods.  Something in cow's milk is needed.

It really depends on what you are using it in or for. I've never been a drink a glass of milk person, but I love Almond Milk for drinking. If I am making a curry, I use Coconut Milk (or Coconut Cream for a non-dairy whipped topping). I like Cashew or Oat Milk best in coffee. For Ice cream, I use Macadamia Milk a lot along with Almond (depending on the other flavors in the recipe.

I used to use a lot of rice milk which was one of the early alternatives along with soya and much nicer than soya in my opinion. You don't see it so much any more, oat is much more popular.

I buy a little bit of real milk and a big carton of almond milk as the main supply to use when the pints of real milk are used up. Too much real milk goes bad in a household of one person. Stop drinking glasses of milk when I was a kid, but do put it on cereal. And then toss the milk out of the cereal bowl into my morning coffee.

Not lactose intolerant. Just convenience. Got turned onto almond milk by a coworker who is lactose intolerant.

I just use lactose free normal milk.

I tried almond milk a few weeks ago and I had to spit it out. Soya milk is probably the closest thing to the normal milk experience for me but I'm not sure if it can line my stomach before a drinking session like just lactose free normal milk can.

What's with all these oat milk drinkers? Soy milk is the best milk and I'll die on that hill.

Granted, I don't know for certain. That's my working theory. I'll have to go to the doctor to know for sure.

It's got to be the sweetened soya milk though, right? Not unsweetened? 8)
