Honestly, just looking at these creatures makes me uncomfortable.

Having one crawl across my skin is a sure way to make me yelp.

I love spiders and have had several as pets in the past.

no - spiders would rather avoid humans. They will leave you alone if you leave them alone. People tend to be bitten when the spider is in danger of being killed accidentally or on purpose.

No, but yes kinda.

I dont believe in killing them, and try to place them outside. But I dont like to directly handle them.

I said it depends because if they're really huge I wouldn't like the sensory feeling of them walking on me.

In general though, I'm not scared of them at all.

I call them all Charlotte and think of Charlotte's Web - one of the most influential books of my life.




Actually there's one type that I named "Stanleys" when I was in Kindergarten.

You haven't seen the spiders around here. Yes, they do tend to avoid us, but when they can touch the corners of your hand with feet without moving, it's worth being a bit concerned, even if they aren't any danger of permanent injury.

I voted "it depends." In the UK spiders are mostly harmless to humans, and I don't worry about their presence unless they touch me, which does scare me a little bit, but not unduly. In Arkansas there are some rather dangerous spiders, and as I don't know much about how to recognise which are safe, common sense dictates that I'd best stay away from them all, and I feel significant fear when I'm confronted with any insect that's unknown to me. I've heard that fear of creepy-crawlies is natural, having once been a survival instinct in places where dangerous insects existed.

Definitely. I've had fears in the past that I've grown out of, such as snakes, but my arachnophobia has only gotten worse as I've gotten older. I don't even know what it is about them that scares me so much but I can't be near them.
