Yeeeeeah, we're proper f****d.
I live in a temperate rain forest climate zone.. grass is brown, maple leaves are turning red like it's October not because they're getting ready to drop their leaves for Winter ground cover, but because it's barely rained at all for several weeks. A few years ago it was hotter and dryer and there were grass fires etc - so it's not the first time it's been dry.. but we're talking about a very wet place experiencing drought. We have watering restrictions etc.
In the not so distant future, grass lawns should be abolished. Jobs like forest fire fighting and tree planting (even via drone drops) will be in extremely high demand and should be revered. People will have no choice but to mobilize and scramble to try to fix this mess.
Others won't be so lucky and will simply try to find enough water to survive each day. Others yet won't care all That much because they're going to hitch a ride on a SpaceX trip to Mars and never come back. Others will be on the move seeking water/food/survivable climate.. they may find it, or they may find angry armed people defending their water rich territory with deadly force.
All of the above and more will likely come to fruition, IMO. We're in for a wild ride.
