I've used paroxetine for 3 years and I'm off my meds for 3 months now. That medication had some serious side effects but that was the best med ive ever taken (for my anxiety and depression). Lately i am a bit stagnant and anxious, sometimes depressed. I need to do something like work or school. But dont have the enery to do that. Time is now passing so fast and my movement became slower.

So, do any of you take this or similar drug, how does it affect your mental health? Do withdrawal effects ever go away ?

Please don't tell me to go to doctor. I'm fed up with doctors they all tell the same story (take these and come back in 1 month), giving some meds and thats all. Ive found this med by trial and error and dont wanna try any more drugs.

Or, what alternatives can i do / use to replace antidepressant effect?

Thanks for taking time to read (and reply)

Withdrawal effects go away gradually in my experience. Did you quit suddenly rather than taper?

I’m afraid that we can’t give you advice. Maybe you should think about finding another doctor.

Do you do therapy? That could be a helpful alternative or something to do in addition to meds.

Try Omega 3 Fish Oil supplements.
Get the ones you can keep in the fridge so they're cold and they don't taste fishy.
Also methylated B-Complex vitamins, and maybe NAC at bedtime.

Seriously, that stuff all makes a difference to brain fog, clarity, and mood.

Have you had a genesight test? It lets them know what medicines you will likely respond well to and which you will respond bad to based off your genes.

That may help get rid of a lot of the trial and error

I never found supplements helpful unless I was deficient in something.

That’s a good idea. My son’s doctor had him do genetic testing for medications. It was useful.

I've heard good things about that too.

Same.

Most of them are no better than snake oil.
