"My body, my choice" you ceaselessely hear the boisterous feminists rant all day long.

"Get your rosaries off my ovaries" is another popular mantra.

Yet, what do all these feminists have in common? They are all materialists. If you agree with their dogma, that makes you a materialist as well.

It is pretty simple reasoning.

If you think that an unborn baby is just a lump of cells with no potential, you are not just morally deficient, you subscribe to the dogma of materialism. Only a real materialist would see it from that locust.

If you find nothing wrong with late term abortion and diverge from the point of the view that all life is worth protecting, that notion is yet again, indicative of your materialism.

Abortion is driven by materialism.

So what do you think - is abortion the product of rabid materialism that came to infest our society or is it something else?

How is this related to autism?

If you're interested in our points of view there are plenty of abortion threads in PPR already.

None tackle the very notion that materialism and abortion rights are deeply interrelated.

You remind me of a certain former member who was banned. Is this a sock puppet? These are strange first posts for a new member.

Than what do you believe in? I personally can't find an escape route from that dichotomy.

You can’t reduce abortion down to one cause (materialism), just like you cannot reduce the worldview of atheists down to “consume and reproduce.”

That’s because you seem to be a black and white thinker.

Actually the opposite is correct. If you void life of all meanings, than only the latter remains true.

A non-materialist doesn't encounter such obstacles. They know objective meaning exists, thus, they oppose
abortion in the result.

It isn't the result of black and white mentality. It is, as I have mentioned above, the pure result of a materialistic outcome.

Let us assume that the true metaphysical reality is materialism. What is to prevent me from stealing or murdering another person? Sure there are legal ramifications which are axiomatic, but ultimately there would be no difference in what I am destined towards. If the death is the end of all, then objective morality is meaningless. Abortion is by default justified because of the lack of ultimate objective morality.

^

As a philosopher it's a topic I'd rather not debate right now, especially with someone who has no affiliation with Wrong Planet and seems to have joined with the sole intent of trolling for political motivation.

Haha fair enough.

But I ask where is the trolling? And I ask with some precision.

Are you familiar with Lecia_Wynter? I think you two would get along.
