^ a year, a new WHO report says.

"Being overweight or obese is also Europe's fourth-biggest killer, the WHO European Regional Obesity report said, and are responsible for an estimated 1.2 million deaths in the region each year, around 13 per cent of the total."

What do people think are the reasons for this? Is it simply a case of people overeating?

4 things
1. rise of shift work and people not having time to cook
2. cheaper accessible junk food to meet rising demand
3. increase in work that forces people to be sedentary
4. increase in multimedia entertainment/internet/social media activity reducing exercise

It's fructose. Our bodies evolved to use fructose as a seasonal trigger to keep eating. When fruit becomes ripe in season we would eat it. That triggered our metabolism to start adding fat and give us cravings for more as long as there was food available. The feast and famine response. Now that fructose is added to all of our food and there is no coming famine, we all get fat.

This is why I'm looking into fasting to simulate the famine that our bodies are counting on.

If you eat like an American you're going to look & die like one.

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes earlier this year as a result of over-eating. The medication I was given (Metformin) has helped me lose weight because it gives me diarrhea if I eat fried food. Just from cutting out fried food, I've lost half a stone in the space of a few months.

It gave me diarrhea whether I ate fried food or not. So I switched to something that didn't give me the Hershey Squirts.

Thank you! I only wish I could claim to have invented it.
