I guess this is where the Evangelical movement in the US jumps the shark.

Remember the short lived "John Larroquette Show"?

A dark sitcom about a recovering alcoholic guy who runs a bus terminal, and of the odd characters he deals with.

Am reminded of the Xmas season episode. Laroquette's character breaks out some booze and has a drink with the man and woman police team. Beaming with holiday cheer he raises a tiny shot glass and says "lets drink to Xmas. A season in which we celebrate the birth of a man who preached peace, charity, and forgiveness".

The girl cop explains "Hey! You cant go around talking like THAT nowadays!"

And the guy cops says "Yeah. NOWADAYS....folks would CRUCIFY you!".

The guy in the video has it right when he infers that the bible (the new testament in particular) was about "love, peace, acceptance and helping those in need".

I think most people who have read the bible would agree that there were many socialist themes in the new testament, also.

Apart from maybe the American evangelical Christians, many of whom don't seem aware of this?

I told you. When they read The New Testament, it's Jesus was born, crucified, died for our sins, resurrected, and then they skip to Revelations.
