The comment section is filled with Azerbijanies applauding Azerbijan seizing the territory, and they all are spouting horror stories about what the Armenians did to THEM back in the WWI era. Dont know if any of what theyre saying is true. I just know that the Armenians, next door, in Turkish Armenia were the victims of genocide perpetrated on them by the Turks at about the same time.
The Caucasus is a strange little region. Its three main countries (Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbeijan) were ruled by Russia under the Czars for centuries, and then ruled for decades by Russia under the Soviets.
Now that the USSR is gone they are now free countries. And so...theyre now free to beat the crap out of each other.
Isnt freedom great!
