Has nobody picked the exorcist

Well, I'm actually a bit surprised that the Catholic account was as fair and even handed as it was (admittedly, I had just skimmed through the text). I suppose I was expecting the source to damn the old man the HELL for his apostasy! While there were a few instances of taking shots at Luther (about how he honeymooned while Germany burned with the Peasants' Rebellion) it wasn't so terrible.

I just watched Hamlet 2. Here is the blasphemous song:

The movie was good for a few giggles. Parts were a tad formulaic (for example, the principal predictably tries to stop the show), but, overall worth 90 minutes of your time.

I just watched Benedetta (2021)--

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW5wOtL ... l=IFCFilms

I highly recommend it. Good and blasphemous. Hawt actresses with decent Lesbian scenes make for good nunsploitation.

I also watched Suor Emanuelle (1977)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsAIY75 ... DawnMovies

Doesn't have the blasphemous tone that Benedetta conveys. It may have been filmed in the same convent as Cristiana monaca indemoniata https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069929/

and seems to have copied from that movie the concept of the male criminal being hidden in the belfry.

But, Laura Gemser. Yum!

If not previously mentioned, Il Decameron gets good and blasphemous, too.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065622

The Accountant

Monty Python's Life of Brian
(My mom believes this film is a mockery of the Catholic faith even after I told her this wasn't true.)

The first two Conjuring movies

The Blair Witch Project

Psycho

Joker

I'm too much of a wimp to watch The Exorcist.

If you find the courage, The Exorcist is a first rate horror movie, and worth watching.

I definitely preferred the book.

I haven't read it. I understand the possessed child in the book is a boy.

Okay, I must have been misinformed.

Not recommending it. I watched a movie many years ago called Sàlo, or 120 days of Sodom. It was made in 1975, and then got banned for many years. I saw it in 1994, when it was unbanned for about 7 weeks, before being banned again. A truly weird and sickening experience.

Benito Mussolini's fascist Italy, 1944. In the northern Italian Republic of Salò, a Nazi-controlled puppet state, the town's four most wealthy, powerful, and decadent members--The Duke, The Bishop, The Magistrate, and The President--herd the finest specimens of young men and women into a palatial villa. Having established a set of authoritarian rules for their captives, the perverted dignitaries then plunge them into a hideous, three-part abyss of systematic degradation and torture inspired by Dante Alighieri's Inferno--the first part of the Divine Comedy. And as the sadists indulge in their most despicable vices and depraved erotic fantasies, only death can save the doomed prisoners.

I just finished Il Ladrone - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078926/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXXrBMm ... oMontesano

A thief from Galilee takes Jesus to be a trickster. Not really that blasphemous, nor that great. I don't recommend it, unless you are a blasphemous-movie completist, or you enjoy gazing upon the voluptuous Edwige Fenech.
