Have you ever failed college besides me?

I failed the university a lot of times, the subjects I am taking are difficult for me, I am a computer systems engineering major, I have thought a lot of times about leaving the university. Have they had the same difficulties as me?

I failed quite a few courses in college. But working for the college allowed me to take and re-take classes for only a small portion of the usual price of tuition. It took me more time, but I did eventually get my degree.

^^^you're talkin' 'bout me, bub i [my callow 20-something self] didn't know WTF i was doing in college, i just drifted and flailed about like a beached fish. i envied my fellow students who ALL to a fkkking person KNEW with CERTAINTY what they were doing there, how to reach their respective goals, and that they were CERTAINLY going to reach their goals on or ahead of schedule, and live respectable middle-class lives and have financial security forever, with compatible mates effortlessly and fluently acquired soon along the way. i was envious and frankly angry, "what am i, chopped liver?" as i shook my powerless fist at god or the master control program or whatever. what superior god were these gifted glib ones born under, what was the name of their magic mojo that at least mebbe i could try for myself?

Me as well. The stress of the enviroment... Could not concentrate so I drifted my mind into thoughts of trains!

ADHD waylaid me.

I knew what I wanted, I just couldn’t attain the results needed.

My senior year In college, I nearly attempted suicide because I was involved in an independent study with my so-called academic advisor. This gentleman, if you want to call him that, was next to impossible to satisfy. Fortunately, the dean of the school of music found out my intentions, and pulled the plug on the independent study. At the end of the academic year, before graduation, the woodwind and vocal faculties asked me about my plans. I plainly told them I wanted to become a teacher. That’s when all hell broke loose. I got accused of everything but being human, was awarded my BA, and was told never to darken the school of music’s doors in my lifetime.

A year later, I applied to a different school of music, attempting to get my tracing certification. The dean at this school was also dubious, but at least he let my try to get my certification. Again, I failed miserably. However, the dean sat down with me and we had a very long talk. While I failed out of the school, he wished he could have made 3 clones of me, and put me on faculty, since he found out how hard a worker I really was. (I literally scared him, and most of the faculty with my background.). He recommended I attend graduate school to become a librarian. He had written a very glowing report on my to SUNY-Geneseo, which had a co-op program with the Eastman School of Music. While I was admitted to Geneseo, unfortunately, I got all my funding and application back, due to Geneseo closing down their library science program. The story of my life just went downhill from there.

I failed quite a few classes in High School, generally from lack of attendance due to social phobia, but also because of ADHD and the inability to function on a rotary system with so many different teaching styles. I failed Biology, Family Studies, and a few other classes.

It's funny because I ended up winning the French award at graduation with 99% final, I'm pretty much bilingual, I became an art specialist, and I raised kids on my own (Family Studies).

All of those grades were from my ADHD and bad attitude at the time, not my intelligence.


I could be highly successful if I really wanted to, which is another trait of ADHD:








As for Uni I didn't fail anything but I was terrified of failing Anthropology.
That was my hardest class ever.

I also had a very rough time with History of Political Thought (first year Phil).

I imagined failing and dropping out in disgrace.

Lol - Almost forgot one.

My grade was 30% but, being the s**t disturber (and compulsive editor) that I am, I changed it to 80% for a joke.
I changed all the qualifiers in my comment too, including "she has(n't) skipped classes ..." , and "she appears to have little interest ..."


That's a sign of genius, right?

I was doing alright until university, but I failed that. I did two years then went off the rails, didn't submit any work and just hung around so I could use the film cameras and edit suites. Got in a load of debt. Dumb.

Then I did an intensive course in journalism, which got me in more debt and I didn't finish that either but I did get a job in journalism so that was something.

A few years back I started a distance learning degree and again I did two years. Got derailed by illness and messed up my student loan borrowing so I've not been able to borrow enough to finish it.

So yeah, I have a track record of failing at higher Ed.

Naughty.I wouldn't dream of doing that incase I was caught! My bottom would have been red and sore for months!
Used to dread taking teacher noted back to my Mum! (Dad was not one that read things much. My Mum was the one who had a mind that worked in words).

I failed Spanish badly in high school, and changed courses at university a few times before graduating.

I've never attended college, but at one point I was going to apply for financial assistance and go to the community college. I took the SAT and then..... did nothing. I couldn't figure out the steps for applying.
