One of my male friends once got down from 186 lbs to 125 pounds at a height of 5ft10.

I noticed when he was very thin (nearly underweight) that his ears looked a lot bigger on his face. Is the ears looking proportionally larger to the face a side effect of losing weight?

When I was in Uni, I knew a girl who suffered from anorexia.
She was so slim her teeth looked fat.

I kid you not.

I think the ear thing could be possible.

I have never heard of this effect personally.

The face normally has fat deposits.  The ears do not.

Therefore, it is not so much that the ears look bigger after weight loss, but that the face becomes smaller.

I saw this thread title in the Active Discussions list and I thought "Jamesy".

125 pounds is a shockingly thin weight though for a 5ft10 man isn't it?

Yes. It is abnormally low weight for a man that tall.

146 for women, and 157 for men.

Thats what table said at the first site I just now googled to.

Am not a doctor. Just know that I am less than five ten but weigh more than 157, but am not obese.

No idea, I just thought this was the Jamesy-est thread title I'd ever seen.

I somehow knew it was a Jamesy thread too, even without checking.
