Not jumping to conclusions means that instead of shouting wolf over and over again you wait until there's actual solid evidence of wolves so people view your claim with some credibility.
Avi Loeb is the out-of-field expert who cried aliens.

He has a Netflix documentary on his New Guinea expedition which he filmed in June 2023. I am not sure when it's release date is?
Loeb says that he hopes skeptics in the public and scientific sphere do scrutinise his documentary or follow his blogs as
He strongly believes that blogging his research improves public understanding of the scientific process. “Some people told me: ‘It’s the first time we see how science is done. Because we often hear just in press conferences the final result.’ They [scientists] sit on a stage and tell the public what the truth is, and the public doesn’t like that because it appears like the work of the elite,” he says. He insists his blogs are like detective stories. “And the public loves detective stories. I mean, what’s the problem?”

People love to give credit to aliens for everything. There's people who think aliens built the pyramids. (Also, ever notice that people always give aliens credit for non-European ancient structures such as the pyramids in Egypt, the Nazca lines in Peru, and the moai of Easter Island, while they never claim aliens built ancient European structures such as the Parthenon or the Colosseum?)

This has been a common accusation saying "aliens" only built non-European ancient structures.
There is growing evidence that ancient structures in Europe, middle east and South America are actually built over even older foundations or overlaid over older structures in deeper layers that have been long dismantled or destroyed.
The evidence for this is (for example) South America many of the traditions speak of older civilisations or peoples who arrived by sea or the sky who taught the Mayans or Aztecs the art of civilisation. Coincidentally this is echoed in Egypt, middle east and ancient Europe.
What makes this a tantalising possibility is Gobleke Tepe, Only 5% of this civilisation has been dug up, and this unearthed portion has been dated to 11,600 years ago. But this structure has been built and buried and built again in layers that might be even older stretching back beyond the ice age. Strangely this seems to be the case with many megalithic structures in Europe. There is also a pyramid in Indonesia that also dates to before the ice age.
The existence of even older peoples suggests prior to some cataclysm there were sophisticated civilisations that flourished. Here's where it get's interesting., The oldest structures (whether in South America or Egypt) show the most complex and advanced building techniques. The quarrying several thousand tonne stones from Quarries in Baalbek Lebanon is a great example
Or in China these massive quarried stones in Yangshan China which is an unbelievable 30,000 tonnes
Even today there aren't machines capable of moving stones this large. For that matter how did "laser" polished stones weighing almost 100 tonnes get moved to the top of Mountains in Peru or into the upper sections of the Great pyramid,
Its here where the alien possibility becomes the only solution. or else very advanced tech beyond our comprehension lost before the end of the last ice age.
The Baalbek Stones are apparently Roman - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baalbek_Stones

Actually the stone was supposed to have been quarried by the Phoenicians as Baalbek was mean't to be a place of worship of the Phoenician god Baal.
According to historians the construction of the expansive temple was begun by the Phoenicians between three and four thousand years ago. The Greeks then added to it, followed by the Romans, and much later the Lebanese Arabs.
The only problem is there is no record of Phoenicians every having the tech to build with stones that large. Heck even the Romans with their engineering prowess weren't capable of quarrying something that big (and for what?) let alone moving it.

Meanwhile the claim was
It sounds like the stones were never fully quarried, so what does their existence prove, except that Romans occasionally realized they were in over their heads?
Meanwhile, the Yangshan Quarry stone that CD alludes to...
So no aliens are required to explain either item and making aliens the first explanation to consider instead of the very last one shows that the person doing the evaluating is hoping to make the conclusion that it must have been aliens, vs. a more mundane explanation.

It was never fully quarried or moved, so what point do you seek to make?
It sure seems like the Romans partially quarried a stone only to realize it wasn't feasible to move it, rather than aliens moved it and welded it to the ground to make it look like it hadn't fully been quarried.

Now, just because humans had methods of moving 630 ton stones back then... that doesn't mean it wasn't aliens.
It's another extra 100 tons. I don't think we should leap to any crazy conclusions like that humans were responsible for these monoliths, given that they were marginally larger than the ones we're certain were moved by humans.

Anyway back on topic
Harvard seem to be favourable to Loeb's position,

Just goes to show, alien research is now mainstream

A Harvard psychologist Mahzaribn Banaji has addressed the apparent discrepancy between astronomer's opinions and what US Space command reported about the 2014 object monitored landing off the coast of Papua New Guinea from space. This is despite US Space command confirming Loeb was correct about the extra solar system origin of the object.
In response to a prominent astronomer stating "People are sick of hearing about Avi Loeb's wild claims". The psychologist said astronomer's response is typical of somebody with cognitive dissonance, a mental state where people's behavioural response does not align with their beliefs. These astronomers are seeking consistency between hard government data and their own past knowledge and the conflict generates unease and discomfort to the point where they feel compelled to attack Avi Loeb rather than actually address the evidence he has in his hands.

The obsession to attack Avi Loeb therefore comes from a temporary state of mental illness. Why? because the spherules Loeb collected have been analysed and the reporting of the unusual composition is in the process of being published in a peer reviewed journal.
It therefore seems unhinged to take potshots over what's in the spherules when the data is yet to be released? quite bizzare
