I love watching MST3K and Rifftrax (the shows that make fun of really bad movies).

Weird Movies are kinda my thing. :nerdy:

I think one of my favorites was "The Incredibly Strange Creatures who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies"

(That's a mouthfull :mrgreen: )

Anyone can watch Pi for free on You-Tube.

Also, The Machinist starring Christian Bale who dropped 60 pounds
by eating one apple, one can of tuna, and drinking plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

I'll list Meshes of the Afternoon, a film by Maya Deren. Sometimes weird is wonderful. She is an icon of avant-garde film making.

Sometimes weird is just weird and not bad, but not great.

So the first film is poetic and symbolic, making is "weird."
The second film is weird. I have this film on DVD and have watched it a view times. Does it have merit? (Shrug shoulders) It's weird. Sometimes I like weird.

If you like weird films, find a list of avant-garde films, and throw a dart, or find a list of Surrealist films from the dawn of film making or when at the dawn of sound film, and throw a dart.

Pretty much everything the Davids Cronenberg and Lynch have made belong in this thread.

I wanted to talk about a movie I saw once called Society but its hard to do in the non adult forums. Basically a satire on high society where the rich people have these disgusting, incestuous murder orgies where they all merge together physically.

I watched this through Rifftrax. It wasn't until I read the description on IMDB that I had any idea what it was supposed to be about.

Its probably based upon the Absurdist play "Rhinoceros" by the Romanian writer Eugene Ionesco in 1959. Havent seen the play but since it a classic of the modern "theater of the absurd" it not surprising that it would "weird".

Hollywood made some rather weird "major motion pictures" that all the more strange because they werent trying to strange or edgy.
