I've been depressed lately

I've been depressed for the past four months. It started when I was staying at the cheapest hotel in Langley while my apartment was being treated for cockroaches. I had my favourite things confiscated because of strict measures to make sure that roach eggs wouldn't end up in the hotel. My self-made helmet was in that bag. I had to spend three long weeks without my stuff and away from my apartment. The hotel and area was a complete dump.

I get back to my place after the three weeks. It's not as tidy as I left it and the cleaners didn't really get rid of the small amount of clutter that I had. I asked the outreach worker to take me to the clubhouse. I asked the staff person who hooked me up with outreach where my green bag was. I was told that the bag had to be thrown out because there was bugs in it. I asked if I could have my laptop back. They told me that I could have it back in 50 days time because that's how long it takes for roach eggs to hatch. They told me that they saved a couple of other things as well.

I played the waiting game with my stuff while the death of my grade school friend was fresh on my mind. That plus the fact that my old building that I used to live in which is part of my neighbourhood of subsidized housing was demolished. I started seeing someone at the mental health centre around the same time.

Two staff workers decide to have a power trip on me telling me not to talk about Germany or wear my helmet and I cry my eyes out and that happened two weeks before my 49th birthday. My birthday didn't go too well anyways. I was too busy thinking about society's expectations to enjoy my birthday. I told the power trippers that I was planning on giving up the German helmet and hats that look like the helmet because of the mistake that Justin Trudeau made bringing a Waffen SS Nazi who fought for Ukraine against Russia during WWII. I've long forgiven Canada's nutcase leader and I'm being myself again which gives me a sense of freedom.

I was doing fine for a couple of weeks and than December 5th comes around. The day that would have been Chrissy's birthday if she was still alive today. That's why I've been acting up here on WP. The walking the streets of London, over sharing of some things and this evening's meltdown. I apologize for my behaviour here and I look farward to starting on a new page tomorrow with my old hats. I can't give up my cloth helmet. I wouldn't be myself without it.

You've certainly been through a tough time lately, CR! I hope you start feeling a lot better soon. I'm glad that you have decided to just be yourself.

I can understand why you would be depressed lately. That sounds like a lot of back to back awful. I hope you can find some ways to take care of you right now.

Take some walks if you can. I know you said you can’t trek far, but even short walks can be head clearing. Maybe especially so if you pause and smoke some fluffy nuggs.
