Hi!
I am new to this board and wanted to pop in and say Hello.
I've been reading/lurking a bit and wanted to post here before I made a real reply or started a new topic.

I'm in my 40s and am undiagnosed but the probability of my ASD is extremely high.
Have tried getting a formal diagnosis and this has been a challenge.

Married with no kids

I came upon this group while researching support for my spouse and I.
She is NT and our relationship is not always the easiest.

I'll write more in relevant threads.
Happy to be finding a new place for resources, information, and communication.

Welcome to WP! I hope you find it interesting enough to continue visiting.

You say "Have tried getting a formal diagnosis and this has been a challenge." Are you in the UK? I understand it might be a challenge there. In the U.S. I think it might be more a question of getting your insurance to cover it.

Regarding "She is NT and our relationship is not always the easiest."...my bride is ADHD and I am ASD Level 1. It's "interesting" (and when I suggest she get an Autism "upgrade", for some reason, she says she doesn't think it would be an upgrade).

You were talking about you spouse. One thing to note is that the way some of these traits affect women is different then the way it affects men. She may also be an ND.

Wishing you all the best on your journey of self-discovery. I recommend keeping a sense of humor about it, as well as a strong undercurrent of self-compassion. If you're anything like me, you might find yourself (unintentionally) replaying social situations in your head trying to figure out what went wrong. It's nice to have a little bit more of an answer. It's often just about vibing with a different kind of brain!
