This is an example of the OPPOSITE of the theme of this thread.
A current song that makes me feel like Methesulah (the 900 year old guy in the Bible).
Heard it on top 40 while riding in a carpool this am.

Made me aware that there are ...fully grown adults now who are too young to remember a time when Will Smith was a rapper!

Back in the ancient Bronze Age when he was a rapper all my Boomer and Gen X peers all sneered at all rap. But I began to break ranks and to start to like some examples of rap of that time...like some of the Fresh Prince's work.

I remember loving this song when it first came out. I was around 12. When I was listening to the radio with my friends, I called the local radio station to request it during their live requests hour.

The guy said: “We just played it 10 minutes ago.”

Me: “I know, but I want to hear it again.”

Him: Deep sigh. “Fine.”

This song made its debut at the 1964-1965 World’s Fair in New York at the Walt Disney Pavillon. A very young ASPartOfMe went on this ride.

That (or something very similar) was my favorite ride when I went to Disney World as a 3 year old. I don’t remember it that well. I just remember that there were lots of dolls. I used to sing the song often when I was a kid. Now I find the idea of the ride kind of terrifying. Dolls are scary.

Sadly a LOT of untalented pop artists from the 2000s or 2010s. I was a girly girl and grew up on The Chipettes. I'm trying my best to hate them since I want to be scenemo, that's why I say I'm half.

I remember it when it...really DID "first come out" in the Sixties...sung by Roberta Flack.
