From the day of my birth, I was sheltered. I had to mask my Autism for over a decade only to start slowly unmasking it recently. For 18 years I had the view that romance is between men and women until I met a trans friend who said otherwise. It was my first time meeting an LGBT person. I was never prepared for that and I have trouble trying to adapt to the concept.

I had female crushes in elementary and high school but I never got to experience a relationship and I fear that my autism would probably render me sub-human to the opposite gender since I live in a conservative country. Autism is indeed a social disability and I have experienced difficulty in interacting with my classmates. I tend to be more sensitive and I experience meltdowns when faced with uncanny situations.

I was mistreated by an ultraconservative and nationalist high school that didn't value my creativity which resulted in two years of suffering. My classmates were busy every summer and they were too busy to be even invited to any day. I had seasonal depression. It took 18 years to finally find a neurodivergent person but one thing that I cannot adapt to is that they're an LGBT person. I've never interacted with an LGBT person before and it sounds so new to a hetero person like me.

I want to find and interact with more neurodivergent people in real life since Internet isn't worth because I can't spend my life talking to a screen when I want to feel real life comfort too.

Welcome to WP! I hope you find some of what you are looking for here.

Autism can be a social disability in some settings, but it isn't here.

I'm a little unclear on meeting folk in-person here, however.
