Welcome!

It can be a lot to process.

It can be helpful in out why things went wrong in the past but the idea is to help you move forward with fewer issues.

Congratulations on the diagnosis! It probably explains much of your past.

And, congratulations on not getting the diagnosis until now. I hope this means that you were doing reasonably well in life and do not need treatment. In which case the diagnosis is a wonderful revelation but you are established enough that it won't get in your way.

Welcome to Wrong Planet, and congratulations on your diagnosis. I got mine about 5 months ago, and the relief of getting an answer as to why you always felt different is a great feeling.

Thank you @BillyTree, @blitzkrieg, @Hokulea, @BTDT, @Double Retired, @colliegrace, @DirkGently69, @silverlinings1069, @AnonymousAnonymous, hello @firemonkey :D , @funeralxempire and @CockneyRebel

Thank you all for the welcome. I have been in contact with the mental health services for the past 13 years (I am receiving treatment for psychosis) and only just three years ago while I was having CBT sessions, the therapist suggested I have an assessment. Then the psychiatrist asked me to do the same.

In the assessment outcome call, I have been suggested to go for an ADHD assessment as well.

My current diagnosis of schizoaffective is probably going to change now, not sure to what but the psychiatrist said it needed to be reviewed.
