I was with a Canadian friend of mine at my local bar once. He got into an argument with one of the bouncers/door security over something. As he walked away from the bouncer he said “You f*****g as*hole”. The three doormen then forcefully ejected him from the establishment.
Do you think that was an over reaction on the bouncers part or not because he did not exactly get physical with them did he?

They probably only over-reacted if he was in the process of leaving the bar at the time. Bars & clubs have a responsibility to try & keep their customers safe. Getting into an argument with a bouncer & then cursing them out is a warning sign that the person is a hotheaded jerk or too drunk to be calm & rational.
