Do you think it's wrong if two people who have kids with the same name date each other?

Let's say a man and a woman start dating. They're both divorced. The man has a son named Michael and the woman also has a son named Michael. If this couple ends up marrying, the two Michaels will be stepbrothers. It's possible that they might even live in the same house together after their parents marry. Do you think this is a bad idea?

I wouldn't worry about it.
Nicknames can always be used to avoid confusion.

Not an issue.
I seldom refer to my kids by name anyway.
They also have short-form names or nicknames.

If they didn't, and their names were exactly the same, so what?

Some couples have the same names whether M-F or any other orientation.

Sidenote:
I knew a man who was married to three consecutive Helens.
Total coincidence.

One of my parents is dating someone with the same name as their sister

It's not an issue. Something to kind of poke fun at. It is an extremely common name.

I tend to use "Blank" and "Other Blank." Although, that works far better if they're just coworkers or friends rather than potential family members.

It's amazing how many couples share the same name. Now that's even more confusing.

In college I had a roommate named Eric. He had a brother named Eric. His dad had remarried.

Nickelodeon had a show in the 90s called The Adventures Of Pete & Pete about two brothers both named Pete & they had the same two parents. The older brother was nicknamed Big Pete & the younger brother went by Little Pete. I don't get why nicknames like that wouldn't work for the scenario in question :?

I don't think it matters if you've got two kids who end up with the same name. George Foreman named all 5 of his sons George Edward Foreman.
