Being or looking hyper alert/anxious, which sometimes autistic people can look like, can look suspicious to normies, particularly in shop or retail environments.

My own criteria for "suspicious looking" are quite different to nt's then.

How does a robber look? In movies they wear a balaclava, hoodie or beanie, or are simply cast as they have a "baddie" face?

I can't quite imagine that you look like a robber.....

Yeah and I have a big bag that says SWAG on it.

Get real man. Its not cartoon land.

It happened to me sometimes when i was younger. I have no idea why. Probably because my expression and mannerisms seemed "off," which to them was suspicious.

one shop had that bad evrrytime, what a nonsense, that sub manager must have gone, i don't see him no more

don't talk your
'foreign' language at the check outs or you will be asked for id,
the one stealing here is the shop, with their wrong pricing and deceptive promotions they forget to put in the system,

even the local grocer asks me regularly to id, i f-ing come here every week, i always suspect its punishing for having no shopcard and/or no bankcard
( :ninja: or telling them they should clean their dairy coolers(full with black mold gunk on the doors of the refrigerators) :jocolor: don't do that)

Security guards are taught to look out for any signs of nervousness or drug use so any stimming maybe keeping your head down sensitive to noise or light all look a bit like you’re evading something. Which you are. They just see things through a neurotypical lens and think “a normal person acting like this is nervous and or high and possibly stealing. It’s not personal. They aren’t mad at you they’re just people with control issues and some anger to let out that are in positions of power. I’m sorry.

I ask them openly do they have to breathe into my neck, why so obvious? I understand they have to monitor each customer but being right behind my back will result in me exiting the store instead of buying something, which I was really looking for.

The shop people shouted me back into the shop on time when the alarns went off. Like as if I was the only person going through the doors.
